Sacred Mountain

Sri Pada / Adam's Peak

One holy summit, shared peacefully across four faiths.

Story

Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, and Christians all climb the same mountain, at night, by lantern light, to reach the summit by sunrise -- each honouring the same footprint-shaped hollow in the rock, under a different name. The climbing season runs only five months a year, from December's full moon to May's, closing once the monsoon takes the mountain back.
